For nearly 20 years – going back almost to the building’s opening in November 2004 – the roof on the Bill Logue Juvenile Justice Center in Waco, Texas had leaked. No longer, now that Clark Roofing has recovered it with a TPO system from MuleHide
The Waco-based contractor filled the 22-gauge insulated metal panels using the MH Atlas EPS TS Flute Fill System and mechanically attached ½-inch-thick Poly ISO 1-HD Plus high-density cover board. The crew then installed just over 700 squares of 80-mil Standard TPO Membrane, fully adhering it with TPO Bonding Adhesive, and flashed penetrations using 60-mil Standard TPO Membrane.
It’s Clark Roofing’s go-to single-ply system. The thick TPO can handle Texas’ baking heat and infamous hailstorms. Fully adhering the membrane creates a wrinkle-free roof that not only looks great but is also even more hail-resistant. The white membrane will enhance the building’s energy efficiency, reducing cooling costs and maximizing the efficiency of HVAC equipment while keeping occupants comfortable. And McLennan County has the security and confidence that comes with a 30-year no dollar limit system warranty.
A 19-person crew installed the roofing system in just over eight days in October 2024. And when the next rainfall came, the client was grateful that, for the first time in nearly two decades, there were no leaks.
