Once adhesive has risen/foamed up, boards or Fleece Back membrane may be placed into the adhesive. Rise time may vary from 10-15 seconds on hot (100°F+) substrates to 5+ minutes on cold (32°F) substrates. d. Tack/open/working time of the adhesive may vary from 1 minute on hot (100°F+) substrates to 10+ minutes on cold (32°F) substrates.

Open time varies between Helix, and Helix Max. Reference applicable product data sheet for specifics regarding each product.

As a general rule, material costs to use Helix is around 5 to 6 times more expensive than using screws when one layer of insulation is installed. Unlike mechanically fastening insulation where only the top layer is fastened, each individual layer must be adhered when using Helix Low-Rise Adhesive. However, some of the major benefits to using Helix Low-Rise Adhesive can greatly decrease costs in other areas of the project, such as: • Reduced labor compared to standard fastening into concrete, gypsum, cementitious wood fiber (Tectum), and lightweight concrete roof decks

While Helix can be used to adhere to certain existing roof surfaces such as mineral/granulated mod bit cap sheets, or weathered smooth mod bit cap sheets, it cannot be used to adhere to existing Single-Ply membranes such as TPO or EPDM. PVC or KEE is not acceptable to adhere to with either Helix or Helix Max.

Adhesion tests are scheduled through your MuleHide Territory Manager.
