FAQs

It is primarily a matter of the contractor’s or property manager’s personal preference. The two products have similar performance characteristics.

Shur-Gard TU Force HT have a UV exposure rating of 180 days.

No. Because Shur-Gard TU Force HT is reinforced, it does not have the flexibility required for flashing details.

Yes, the two products can be used in conjunction with each other, provided the joints are fully adhered.

Shur-Gard TU Force HT should only be installed when material interface temperatures are 40ºF and rising. Lower temperatures will result in lower tack and will reduce adhesion.

If low temperatures are present during installation, the underlayments may be back nailed to hold them in position during installation. As temperatures rise, the adhesive will activate and bond with the substrate and seams.

Priming is not necessary when adhering the underlayments to clean, dry roof decks made of wood. Concrete and masonry deck surfaces require priming with asphalt primer that meets ASTM D41 standards.

Rolls of Shur-Gard TU Force HT should be stored in their factory-applied packaging in a dry, protected warehouse at a temperature not exceeding 110ºF.

Shur-Gard TU Force HT are backed by Mule-Hide Products Co.’s standard one-year materials-only warranty.
